Do you know what pension benefits are right for you?

Find The Right Benefit For Your Situation With VSG.

Every year, thousands of Veterans struggle with not knowing where to go to receive the benefits that they’re entitled to. The entire process of acquiring assistance can be more confusing than helpful at times, with Veterans often feeling like they’re leaving the VA with more questions than answers. Between the enormous amount of paperwork and the highly-specific services you’re unsure if you qualify for, it’s easy to feel helpless when looking for assistance. That’s where Veterans Service Group comes in. It’s our goal to streamline the entire process of applying for Veteran’s aid for Veterans and their families, by highlighting what services might be right for you and the best way to go about attaining them.

If you’re not in a financial position where you can afford to pay for care, there are Veterans benefits for assisted living facilities that might be a good fit. Our team is always ready to set you up with one of our exceptional home care providers in our diverse network. But what’s the difference between assisted living and home care? We’ve outlined some key differences between the two, so that you know exactly what pension benefits you should be looking for along with what eligibility requirements you need to satisfy.

What Is Veterans Assisted Living?

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ website, Assisted living facilities are “places where Veterans can live in a rented room or apartment,” complete with “shared living spaces, like a dining room,” and where there’s “a trained caregiver on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.” Assisted living facilities can help Veterans with the activities of daily living in a location other than their own home. Community living centers may not be an ideal fit if a Veteran is looking to stay within the friendly confines of their own home.

Understanding the differences between benefits is crucial.

Home care services don’t require Veterans and their families to make the difficult choice to live somewhere else; instead, a qualified caregiver comes to your home and provides well-rounded services to help with activities of daily living. A lot of Veterans would prefer to remain in the comfort of their own home. With VSG, we maintain partnerships with home care service providers nationwide that offer assistance including:

  • Companionship

  • Meal preparation/Feeding

  • Laundry

  • Light Housekeeping

  • Grocery Shopping/Errands

  • Transportation

  • Medication reminders

  • Bathing/Hygiene/Grooming

  • Mobility Assistance – including transferring assistance and fall prevention

  • Toileting and Incontinence Care

That’s where VSG comes in.
