Eligibility

If you're a veteran or surviving spouse who needs help with daily activities, or you're largely homebound, you may qualify for added monthly payments.

Check below to see if you meet the VA's requirements.

You may be eligible if you meet at least one of these requirements:

You need another person to help you perform daily activities, like bathing, feeding, and dressing, or

You have to stay in bed, or spend a large portion of the day in bed because of illness, or

You are a patient in a nursing home due to the loss of mental or physical abilities related to a disability, or

Your eyesight is limited (even with glasses or contact lenses you have only 5/200 or less in both eyes; or concentric contraction of the visual field to 5 degrees or less)

And served active duty during one of these wars

World War II: 12/7/41 - 12/31/46
Korean War: 6/27/50 - 1/31/55
Vietnam I: 11/1/55 - 8/5/64 (Boots on Ground)
Vietnam II: 8/6/64 - 5/7/75
Gulf War: 8/2/90 - Date TBD
